Aranui 5 is a new custom-built, dual-purpose passenger/freighter that sails from Tahiti to the Marquesas, Tuamotu, and Society Islands in French Polynesia on an all-inclusive cruise.
Regular departures occur year-round. Designed to offer the comforts of a cruise liner while operating as a supply ship, Aranui 5 is classified as a small vessel, accommodating approximately 254 passengers in 103 cabins.
Accomodation
Passenger accommodations range from Premium exterior staterooms, more than 90% of which have a private balcony, to Standard exterior staterooms with a picture window or porthole, and Class C shared dormitory-style cabins with occupancy for 4 or 8 people.
Dining and Entertainment
Aranui 5 features a variety of onboard amenities, including:
- A restaurant where all meals are served in a casual setting
- 2 lounges
- 2 conference rooms for guest lectures on topics related to the Marquesas
- 4 bars, including the Sky Bar with panoramic views
- An outdoor pool
- A boutique
- A massage room
- A gym
Activities
Due to reef formations, the lack of docking facilities, or adverse wind and sea conditions at many ports in French Polynesia, it is often necessary to use a small craft or tender to transport passengers between the ship and shore.
Shore visits are subject to port authorities and cargo operators’ schedules. The time in port may range from a few hours to a day or more. Excursions at some ports of call are available at no additional cost to passengers and include meals, village and archaeological site tours, and snorkeling. Other activities such as scuba diving and parasailing may also be available, but these are not included in the price of passage.
