Présentation
Regarded as one of the sacred heartlands of Mā‘ohi culture and once a major religious centre of Eastern Polynesia, Raiatea carries a profound cultural and spiritual significance. Located around 210 kilometres northwest of Tahiti, the island shares its exceptional lagoon with neighbouring Taha’a, creating a setting of remarkable natural beauty. On Raiatea’s west coast, the charming 3-star Raiatea Lodge Hotel combines colonial character with an authentic island atmosphere. Set within a lush tropical garden, the hotel is just five minutes from the airport and ten minutes from Uturoa town centre. Nestled in a sheltered setting, it offers sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, while its western position provides beautiful sunsets over the Pacific.
Accommodation
Beautiful wood finishes and private terraces bring a warm Polynesian character to the Standard Rooms, overlooking either the lagoon or tropical gardens. Lagoon View Rooms enjoy uninterrupted views across the turquoise waters. Renovated in 2020, all rooms combine contemporary comfort with authentic island charm. The Family Suite features two air-conditioned bedrooms and a spacious living area, while the independent Double and Family Bungalows offer generous private terraces and beautiful lagoon views, with Bora Bora and Motu Miri Miri as their backdrop.
Restaurant
At Raiatea Lodge, dining is a celebration of French technique and Polynesian flavours. Chef Romain Leonard, trained in Michelin-starred restaurants in France and award-winning establishments in Ireland, creates refined cuisine inspired by the island’s exceptional produce. Lagoon fish, bluefin tuna and New Zealand meats feature alongside Mediterranean and Polynesian influences, with a strong emphasis on fresh, homemade flavours. Breakfast is equally inviting, with freshly baked pastries, artisan bread, homemade preserves and tropical fruits. In the colonial-style lounge bar, locally inspired cocktails made with rum from Taha’a provide the perfect way to unwind.
Activities
Guests can enjoy a range of complimentary activities, including kayaking to Motu Miri Miri and its white-sand beach, cycling, snorkelling directly from the hotel, and relaxing by the swimming pool. For deeper island exploration, optional experiences include ATV and 4×4 excursions, jet ski tours, scuba diving and guided island tours. Massages are also available for a touch of relaxation.
