Created in 2002, e-TAHITI travel is a true pioneer of the Polynesian online tourism. 9 months in the making before the launch of this great adventure: Travel license in the pocket, development of a brand-new web site, operating software and new partnerships with local suppliers…this was the journey of a lifetime for its founders.
Over the years, e-TAHITI travel developed its team and offerings with dynamism and innovation thanks to its alignment with the most advanced technologies: new website, new logo, new operating system, and an extended team to support travelers around the world.

E-TAHITI travel, as a local travel agency, is concerned about the importance of protecting its environment. In order to limit its impact and protect the beauty of our islands, e-TAHITI travel has implemented various measures within its organization, including:

- Installation of water fountains and limitation of plastic use in the office
- Limitation of prints

- Energy saving policies (lighting, air conditioning)
Also aware of the impact the travelers may have on the local environment, e-TAHITI travel offers an eco-responsible plea to convey good practices before arrival.
At the same time, we have implemented a new welcome amenity with our branded reusable jute pouches, which are very useful during the stay but also back home in day-to-day life.
e-TAHITI travel obtained Travelife Partner status on October 17, 2024. This international certification recognizes our commitment to a sustainable tourism in French Polynesia.

The Polynesian culture is very present within e-TAHITI travel, with for example the respect of the “Mahana Pae” (our “Polynesian Friday” when Polynesian attire and flowers are welcome to brighten the day).

What is OCEANIA?
OCEANIA is a 1901 Law association based on the island of Moorea in French Polynesia.
Founded in 2017, the association aims to secure the future of cetaceans in French Polynesia through year-round studies, enabling the proposal of conservation measures.
“OCEANIA seeks to act as a bridge between science and the general public, encouraging local observers to actively engage in the protection of Polynesian cetaceans and thus become advocates for biodiversity.”
The agency enables travelers to actively participate in this preservation effort through an eco-participation fee of 1000 XPF* (approximately 9$) included in each trip.
This contribution is fully donated to the Oceania association and supports the development of their new project « Ocean Watch ».
Ocean Watch
Launched in 2024, this three-year program aims to enhance knowledge of French Polynesia's cetaceans by studying their habitat and behavior. It also seeks to identify and reduce human-induced threats, particularly collision risks and disturbances from human activities.
Additionally, the program plans to strengthen the observer network by training local stakeholders and raising public awareness. Ultimately, it aspires to make French Polynesia an exemplary model for cetacean conservation and protection.

Partnership with AOA Polynesian Forests
Since 2025, our agency partnered with AOA Polynesian Forests, the first initiative in French Polynesia committed to the long-term restoration of biodiversity and the ecological health of Polynesian forests.

e-TAHITI travel has partnered with AOA Polynesian Forests in an ambitious project inviting our travelers to actively engage in preserving the Polynesian forests. By sponsoring trees, shrubs, and indigenous plants, you directly contribute to the restoration of local ecosystems and the protection of the unique biodiversity of Polynesia.
