Raivavae
With all her 28 tini islets etched out under the sky, where a multitude of sea birds nest, Raivavae almost unreal, seems to float within her emerald lagoon.
It is, people say, one of the most beautiful spots in the South Pacific and one of the most natural settings.
The island is divided in five villages: Rairua, Mahanatoa, Anatonu, Vaiuru, Matotea where the inhabitants have built pretty pastel colored houses. Life unfolds simply and peacefully.
Visitors can release all the stress of modern life between the coming and the going of the cargo ship Tuhaa Pae Ii or Air Tahiti’s ATR.
The main resource of the island come from the local agriculture, possible thanks to the climate, which allows to grow a large variety of fruits and vegetables; cabbages, taro, potato, orange or coffee. The lagoon also offers its wealth thanks to the fishing, fishes and seafoods are brought back every day to the port.
